PICU rounds – new treatment for asthma!

While I was rounding yesterday in the PICU I was asked to look for studies on using physiotherapy to treat patients with status asthmaticus. All of the research I found showed no benefit to using physiotherapy for this condition; however, I persevered and found hidden among my search results a unique randomized control trial showing that massage therapy benefits patients with asthma. Dr. Hauser was excited to learn about this study and he intends to add it to his upcoming Grand Rounds presentation. Read the trial results here.
